The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

Switched to Netgear from Aruba. Many of the problems I was having with the Aruba system went away by switching. Netgear is super easy to use and easy to setup. I had a little trouble with the internet randomly going offline the first day, but that seems to have resolved itself.

A bit difficult to set up, but once I got it running, all 18 devices were connected and working perfectly. I can get a signal anywhere in the house, even outside on the porch. Extender not necessary.

I used the router for about 7-10 days and could not get it to work as well as I wanted from second story of house which is only free cable I brought it down to first floor bedroom which is primary floor of use and it worked well. I don’t want it in that room so am returning it today and replaced it with NightHawk AX 3000 which I only installed yesterday and so far it is doing what I want. App for setup fairly easy to use but as an older person would preferred a phone number to call for questions as I worked my way thru setup.
