The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

99% of the time it’s great! Every now and then tho it’s not great. Disconnects from the internet for some reason. Tried to see if an update helped. No update was available. But if I go to the Netgear website there is an update. So I followed the steps to update. I now have the most up to date software. Hopefully this will fix my issue. Other than that one issue it works great. I like having the app that has the ability to do the simple stuff. More complex setting need to be accessed with a computer and Ethernet cable. Overall I give it 4 stars. Not a bad product. Just needs a few kinks worked out to be perfect.

We had an old netgear for a long time. We also currently have a Windows 2007 computer and 3 to 4 year old iPhones so I spent some time researching which system would be compatible and landed on this model. The system was straightforward in setting up. My iPhone X went from 8- 9 Mbps download to 30-40 Mbps download if that helps. We relied a lot on our WiFi system with our phones since our general reception is bad so this was a huge improvement.
