The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

Have had this router for about 7 years now and it’s worked really well given how long a family of 5 has used it. Although in the last 2 years we get frequent short bursts of disconnection. Sometimes its the ISP because the modem wont connect but a lot of times the modem is connected but struggling to connect to the router. Not sure if thats an issue with the age of the router or with the modem but have been thinking about upgrading the router because of the age and connection problems recently.

I finally had to call in a pro to get all my TVs to work properly. Still no outside cameras, but will find someone local that does that. So, my new netgear has cost more than expected. My internet said it was my netgear and netgear said it eas my internet provider. So, go figure!
