The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

I have a Gigabit connection and expected the R7000 to deliver at least speeds equal to LAN i.e. around 950 Mbps. But the speeds never crossed 450 Mbps (even on a single wireless device). Sometimes the router would hang and internet would stop which is never the case on other router using same connection. I upgraded to latest firmware, contacted and worked with Netgear customer care but nothing helped.

It was not my plan to replace my old router, but a lighting strike made it necessary. Purchased the Nighthawk AC1900 more on price than anything else, it having the basic features I needed. Using the app, it was very easy to set up in a short time, and I had to manually set it up because of the way my ISP works. Once working, I found I had greater range then my old router so I could disable my WiFi booster. After a week, I am very pleased with the performance of my new NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 router.

Easy set up even for me who’s never even touched a router before. It generally works fine, but twice now in the past week or so of having it, it’s gone “offline.” Usually after rebooting it or replugging in everything it starts working again, but it’s still frustrating and I don’t know why it’s happening or how to prevent it. Besides that, I don’t even think about it bc it’s doing its job.

This is an AWFUL router. I have had it for a few months now and it started off fine but lately it kicks me off my internet (at least twice a day). I have had my internet provider out. I have done the firmware updates. And nothing is fixed. The app is now not working saying “Unable to connect to router” even though it says im connected. I take online college courses and am unable to take exams because it says the signal is too weak, even though i am sitting right by the router. I am beyond frustrated that I wasted the amount of money i did on this. It has given me nothing but issues. I will not buy a Netgear product again. definitely learned my lesson
