The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

Purchased this router when I switched to fiber but tried it out on existing service first. Definitely faster and better WiFi span. Would give 5 stars but am irritated that it auto enrolled me in a trial of some protection program that I cannot find a way to unenroll from so will have to wait until the 30 days is up.

Once I installed the app it was all set to go and every device in the house works as fast as they are supposed to…for once. Great product and the extras that are offered are great as well. Not only does the Nighthawk look like cutting-edge technology, it IS cutting- edge technology. Upstairs we have a modem and router providing strong WiFi upstairs and fairly good WiFi downstairs. My goal was to add a 2nd router to our downstairs modem (2nd internet account) to expand my number of hardwired devices without creating interference between the routers even though the Nighthawk enables WiFi to be turned off. It works GREAT. Not only do I have two laptops hardwired without much reduction in speed on either. I now have PHENOMINALLY strong WiFi downstairs without interfering with our other router. NETGEAR customer service and technical support is fantastic. And I love the well designed really helpful app. I am sure glad I decided to spend more for the Nighthawk because I got a LOT more. Well worth the investment. Thank you NETGEAR for providing top quality products and service.
