The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

My AC1900 has much better range and signal than my old Wifi. Reaches well into my garage and even to outside. Once I clicked on the correct option for the install, install was pretty easy. I did not want to install the mobile app, so that probably made it more difficult for me. Only negative is that I got called by support during the install. They tried to help me out, but they were not too helpful. Basically just called to upsell me on an extended support plan. That annoyance aside, this is a very nice router.

I have owned netgear products for several years , the nighthawk being my latest . The R1900 is basically flawless for my purposes . Multiple P.Cs , multiple phones , streaming TV via wifi to 2 televisions , 2 rokus and an Xbox. Handles them with all . I appreciate the netgear interface even more. Easy setup, well thought out settings page and overview of devices on the router . I do prefer the PC screen settings page better than the app. but again that’s my opinion . I’ve owned ASUS and Dlink routers also but they are in the trash now . Thanks for making a great product . Hope this helps someone , God Bless

When we had our new ISP install their equipment in the corner of our basement we temporarily put the Nighthawk AC1900 Router down there as well – with the intent to run ethernet cable to a more centralized area on the first floor. Well it’s been a year and half and there’s still no reason to move it. We have 12 devices connected and have never experienced a connection problem, even when we’re outside on the patio over 100′ away! I would strongly recommend this router to anyone in need of a great dual band wifi router.

Our existing modem and router were damaged from a lightning strike to our ISP cable network. Selected Netgear for both components. Netgears technician was very helpful in the set-up of the new router which is extremely fast. I completed the modem set-up myself. Both are working well together and have improved range of signal reception.
