The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

Overall, I’d give this a 4.5* rating, as it takes a lil longer than I’d like to boot up. But the transfer rates are great, and the range is amazing! Before I got this router last year, I used 2 separate routers in the house because neither could penetrate the floor to the next. The AC1900 broadcasts not only through the floor (it’s in the basement office), but all the way across the street at my neighbor’s front door! I honestly couldn’t be any more happy with a router.

Our dal has always been terrible. Not even getting half the download speeds we are suppose led to get. This changed everything. Getting at or higher than what our upload speeds are supposed to be. Wish I had gotten one sooner.

Nearly every night since I got this router it has quit working for an hour or two. I can’t sign into the app because even though I have the password I wrote down it tells me it’s wrong and when I try to use the original password it doesn’t work either. I deleted the app. I am deeply deeply frustrated by this router.

I bought this router on January 23, 2021 and lost the wifi connection a few times over the first couple months. I thought it was the location of the router until I started losing the internet connection on my desktop computer which was directly connected through the router and does not rely on wifi. Each time, I contacted my internet provider and they confirmed the internet modem and connection was good so the only thing causing the problem has to be the Netgear router. Here’s the good part. I thought the unit had a 1 year warranty like most products, however, it only has a 90 day warranty so here I am 5.5 months after purchase stuck with this Netgear router. I can’t even get technical support without paying money since I am past 90 days.

I’ve had this router for over a year and I’ve never had a problem with it. I found it easy enough to set up and get working. It’s in the centre of my house, near the ceiling and I have signal everywhere in a 2000 sq foot house. As a side note, every weekend I will turn off my router and modem for a few minutes to reboot.
