The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

I have had the Nighthawk 1900 for about one week. This new one allows the whole house to have WiFi. I do not have to use the Extender to help with the WiFi on all 3 levels. The WiFi has not stopped working at all. So I am keeping my fingers crossed.

easy to set up out of the box, nice ability to fix issues remotely. The router went down after 24 hours but after a reboot, it has worked perfectly well. The fact that the company forces you to use their added security (premium) for 30 days is a bit irritating, since there is not a way to opt out. Otherwise, straightforward setup.

Bought as an upgrade for my old router because it didn’t support Gb speed needed for a new fiber run. Also wanted to be able to disable 5G radio, and it supports that as well. No issues connecting all wireless and wired devices. Great router. Also will support flashing with DD-WRT if needed.

So far I am mostly pleased with the router. A BIG upgrade of Spectrum router. I like the fact that it has Amor built into it and plan on subscribing to it after free 30 day trial. I have 2 streaming TVs,2 phones, Arlo doorbell and cameras, tablet, baby camera, 2 4K Roku streaming device and the connection is GREAT! Had my first issue yesterday with the router. For some reason I lost internet connection and had to reboot router. Other than that i am pleased.
