The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

The “fixes” implemented from the first tech support call did not fix it but the new settings from a second call did the trick. We now have strong and reliable wifi through the house.

I have a netgear modem, router and wifi extender and I just purchased them all brand new and they have been nothing but problems. The troubleshooting team is terrible all they offer you is different variations of a restart and they don’t care if it fixes it or not just going though the motions. They did this for 3 days straight before telling me the modem was the issue. Purchased a new one and and still getting kicked off my wifi. Service/Equipment is awful. it’s been a week and still no working internet.

Router itself is fine. But the Armor security software is a disaster. Every time I was away and reconnected to the network with my phone, I lost my internet to all devices. Went online and found others had this problem, and the solution was to turn off Armor security. Once I did, problem went away. Netgear needs to address this ASAP.
