The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

With a name like NightHawk, the AC1900 has a lot of living up to do. This thing worked flawlessly out of the box, Easy setup great app, streaming and gaming. And a house of 6 this beast handles everything I throw at it. P.S Net Gear this should be called WartHog or Abrams Because it’s a tank.

Unit would shut down daily after my purchase. Tried different fixes without success. Called help desk and they had me checked for latest updates and the system said I was updated. Help desk said I should have another update. Finally they found one and copied it to my unit and I have not had a shut down since. I returned my previous netgear for the same problems. There is a glitch in soft wear updates

My AC1900 has been in use for a week. My Wi-Fi connection still does not hold through an entire video or movie…..just stops playing and my router setting says “no internet connection.” This problem was supposed to be eliminated with this new router. I’ve been battling this issue since early August, all equipment replaced with the Nighthawk being the last piece.
