The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

We started have major issues with the router we had supplied by spectrum. Constant buffering and kicking devices off the network. The 5ghz band didn’t even work anymore. So we bought this nighthawk and it’s been awesome! No buffering, all devices stay connected, and online gaming is way better! Setup was fairly easy. I will say the setup initially failed when using the app on my smartphone. But once I got my laptop and connected it via Ethernet cable, it downloaded a firmware update, and haven’t had any issues since. So if you’re using the app and the setup isn’t working, don’t get frustrated, hardwire it to your computer and it should update and you’ll be good to go!

Chose this as my router for my new apartment and it works absolutely perfect in my entire place I have a third floor loft and am able to get 10-25 ping gaming up there and that’s with being connect to at least 5 or 6 devices at all times and the router is on first floor I live alone so this is more than enough for me was super easy to setup using the net gear app and that was that I would recommend this to anyone that was looking to get a router that will cover all your internet needs at a affordable price

I have to either reboot through the app or power cycle the router at least 5 times a day. It’s frustrating when you work from home and also homeschool your kids and the internet constantly goes out. I have a different router on the way and will switch this one out and send it back.
