The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

We bought this router to use with fiber optic internet. It covers our whole house, through walls and all. Although we do not have a large, multi level home, other routers would not carry to the other end of the house. But with this router, there is no problem at all, and with no lag with several devices paired to it.

the router is amazing with all the latest features. the only issue i had was updating the firmware via nighthawk app that was recommended via the manual inside the box when following the instructions the process kept timing out. eventually had to manually download the update using a laptop an manually install the update the app is still glitchy with the update but functions at times but overall the performance of the router itself is good

Other than requiring a subscription for accurate ‘Shield’ defence to be enabled, and other than decrying every persistent ping from even legitimate major corporate sources as a DDOS, it is fast, albeit it’s interface can be slow to respond, and the Dynamic DNS setup with other services seems needlessly clunky.
