The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

We recently had to get a new modem and router due to a lightning strike. I was super excited to get router, I had looked at it the first time around, but wasn’t able to purchase at that time. We have only had it for several weeks, but have found it is dropping its connection once a week that we have to keep receting it (disconnecting the power plug). We are in the process of figuring out why this it. Currently we are slightly disappointed, but hoping that changes soon.

I recently upgraded my home internet and decided to stop renting from my provider and Netgear NightHawk had the highest reviews, so I bought one. It was easy to install and set up, but the speed and no lag time has been incredible. I highly recommend getting one and cut the cost of renting from your internet provider. I spent hundreds over the past 6 years renting a subpar piece of equipment and for a fraction of what I spent, I have a much better product.

I was very disappointed in this router. It kept kicking out devices off the network and locked out computers constantly. We had to reset numerous times. Bought a new router and different brand and have had no problems.

This is the second Net gear router I have bought. The first one died because input from modem failed. figured a new one would be cheaper than trying to get old one fixed and also a faster solution

When connected signal is great and comes through strong. The problem is that it drops the signal every few minutes. Sometimes it re connects immediately , other times it can take 4-5 minutes which can be frustrating especially when streaming a show or trying to make a video call.
