The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

I bought this device to improve my internet connectivity in my home. It did improve but I do have to restart the router every few weeks because it will lose connection. Also, the app continuously logs me out and even when I save my password I have to log in. This is an issue for me because I always forget my password and I hate having to reset it regularly. Also, I have fiber and it says im getting 300 down and 200 mb up but I still buffer often. I do not know if it’s the router or my provider.

Setup was fairly straightforward and it only took about 15 minutes. I do like that you can setup the ssid bands separately. I use 2.4 g for in house streaming and 5 g for phone and such. Only things I would suggest is a smaller design and a cat 6 Ethernet 4ft cable be included with the box. Overall pretty happy and it seems to run fairly well. The app is nice. They should also include the Armor protection free for 6 months with any new modems I believe as well. I give it 4.5 stars!
