With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

I’ve recently cut the cable cord and chose to go with a cloud based TV service along with streaming sports package. Nothing is more frustrating than pausing and buffering during games and bug plays. I have yet to experience this since buying the nighthawk router. Also, when testing my download/upload speeds, I’m consistently above 110 mbps and I only pay for 100.

Bought a Google WiFi Gen 1 on a recommendation. Boy was I disappointed. Router was always crashing and restarting daily. Bought this and glad I did. Bonus, was able to hook a 4TB HDD to it too!

Purchased for parental controls and was completely disappointed. First problem was the router hooked up to my providers WiFi router/ modem. Anyone wishing to avoid parental controls would just need to connect to the providers router to avoid controls. Secondly, after setting up parental controls I was notified that the devices were running IOS 14 or newer and couldn’t be identified and therefore the controls wouldn’t work. I could go to each device and change some of their settings in order for it to work but what’s the point in that. The user could just change the settings back. Completely useless for me. Returned the next day.

I live in an older home with four floors, and the range extends well to the entire home (placed the router on the 2nd floor) as well as the patio area. I especially like that it assigns the band wave (2.4 or 5ghz) based on location. Setup was very easy with the app, and nicely let’s me monitor the network. One complaint is that when you login to the router page from your browser, the password is displayed to you. I would think that good password security means that the company should hash the passwords and never be able to display them. Potentially this could be a security risk, but I’m no expert.
