With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

After having a few other routers that did not perform to my standards I began to look for alternatives. I purchased two types of linksys routers that frustrated me to no end. So I decided to branch out and give this router a try. I have zero dead spots in my house, Connectivty has increased, and I even get signal at my neighbors house. The performance has exceeded my expectations. As for longevity of the device I’ve only used it a few weeks so I can’t answer;however, I will update the review if it becomes a concern.

Simple setup. The dual band system is the first router to fully work in my home. I switched to this router by recommendation after a year of sub par WiFi from another router. I have eight electronics connected to the router and pull full Mbps. Recommend for anyone.

We have only had this router for a few weeks. But so far so good. I don’t like that the parental controls are an app that cost money. Other then that it’s good.

This router exceeded my expectations! I never knew you could have this much power over your family’s wifi, with many ways to monitor and what not it’s great for families and people who have guests over a lot! There’s a guest wifi setting that you can enable and it’s genious! Love it!

This router hugely improved my WiFi speed, even in a crowded apartment building. I highly recommend turning on Smart Connect (band steering) feature for the best WiFi performance; not sure why they don’t enable that by default. The setup was super easy, and the app for Android was clean and easy to use.
