With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

I’m giving this router 5 star review because of the price, and quality relative to my last router – AC1000. Currently living with 4 other roommates while in college, and we are all heavy gamers, streamers, torrenters, etc… The Nighthawk AC2300 is easily keeping up even with our computers connected and all of our phones. Not only that the Netgear Genie app allows me to diagnosis problems, reboot the router, and if someone forgets to do the dishes cut the internet off for them. Whoops :P. Overall well worth the price for anyone upgrading from an older product especially with all the features included.

We run up to 20 devices at a time and the NightHawk handles it flawlessly! We can have guests over, all of our devices, and even the kids gaming online all at the same time with no slow downs. pretty impressive. The control via the App are an added bonus too. You can see what devices are on the network, add parental controls, and set ‘cutoff’ times for the kids on school nights. Overall, the performance and features are well worth the money. If you are considering an upgrade, get one of these.

I recently purchased Netgear Nighthawk R7000P AC2300 Smart Wi-Fi Router to replace the cable provider’s standard issue modem. I really like this product for it’s features, and ease of installation and use. It is very customizable and provides much better control over the features than any modem I have owned, either through the app or by logging into the modem. You can even turn the indicator lights off. It’s hard to say objectively, but I think the Wi-Fi on all the devices seems faster and more responsive than with the cable company’s modem. I don’t think about my place as particularly busy ‘hub’ but we have a lot of devices, ie, 2 smartphones, ipads, laptops, desktops, Alexa, Smart TVs, guests coming and going, etc. So the ability to customize the delivery of the wi-fi channels to these devices is really helpful. In summary, I think this is a great modem and excellent value for the cost.
