With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

Every time there is a a firmware upgrade it cause the signal to drop. You have you go back and install a stable firmware from about 4 years ago.

I recently was frustrated with the reception of my wifi router that came from my local cable provider. For many months I wasn’t able to get any reception in my basement. I looked at adding a extender buy couldn’t find any that was compatible with my current wifi router. I decided to give netgear a try. I was instantly satisfied. not only did I get service where I wasn’t able to before, I also got faster speeds on my downloads. Also there wasn’t any longer any dropped wifi signal. In summary get a Netgear router! My cable providers router was good but the Netgear router is GREAT!

We chose this router as an upgrade from the basic one the cable company gave us. Our son plays video games and we watch a lot of streaming videos on our Firestick. With the old router we had A LOT of lag and nothing worked right. With this router we can stream videos and our son can play his games with no problems. With the app for the phone I can disable internet to certain devices whenever I need to. I would recommend this router to anyone with a busy household with more than a couple devices that use wi-if.
