With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

We recently purchased the Netgear Nighthawk AC2300. When we moved into our current home, our new ISP supplied an integrated modem wifi router unit, but it was never really provided satisfactory service. We grew tired of agonizingly slow internet speeds and an a weak signal from that modem wifi router, so I began looking into looking into wifi extenders or a mesh system. One Sunday the ISP’s unit simply failed, and I thought, “let’s just get a new wifi router unit.” All I can say is wow. Now, my download speeds are (typically) higher than the bandwidth I’m paying for, and the wifi signal blasts all throughout the house, the garage, and both the front and backyard. And, thankfully, I don’t need a wifi extender or mesh, as the Nighthawk’s signal is so incredibly strong. And, the Nighthawk has enough ethernet ports for needed hardwired devices (security system, Roku, etc). What a great wifi router! Couldn’t be happier with it.

it is nothing to write home to mom about, it is nothing special, it does what it claims to do, but so did my Asus router i had before this one… I really don’t like the cell phone app you have to use to set the router up, the router needs a browser address setup like my old Asus had… if you compare this router to an Asus router, the Asus wins every time…

I bought this device two months ago. They worked fine for a while, Then suddenly the WIFI kept dropping. The Netgear provided a new device new device through RMA for which shipping cost I had to bear. Then with the new device experienced similar problem within two days and on investigation found that the 5 GHz band WIFI drops intermittently. Netgear does not have proper solution for this and asking me to get a RMA and bear the cost for a issue which I am not responsible. I have been in hours and hours of tech support and wasted my time . Really Netgear made this very inconvenient in this time where we work form home and really on proper internet connection to do our job.

Immediately noticed what an awesome difference it made not only in our computer use as well as phone, security and entertainment usage. The speed is incredibly fast and was easily installed by us 70 old timers! Movie streaming has no frustrating buffering moments, smartphones and security system connected quickly and if there is a reboot everything connects immediately. Unlike our old router.
