With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

Netgear Nighthawk AC2300 Dual Band Smart WiFi Router was super easy to set up. We went from barely able to download anything to super fast 5G. I am not a huge techie so being able to set up my new router by myself was great. Didn’t have to call one of the kids to come do it for me. YEAH!!!

A nice upgrade from my AirPort Extreme. A note of caution – new firmware dropped Time Machine support. A really terrible decision – plus they still advertise that the router still supports Time Machine. They either need to update the product page or re-add Time Machine support back in the next firmware update. Not very happy because I wanted Time Machine support when I bought a new router.

I’d like to also say though that the app needs some work… while stylish and intuitive, it struggles at times with loading times. In addition, I have the same issue that many people seem to have in that remote management simply doesn’t work due to an unknown error.
