With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

This router balanced my need for high performance and cost. The gigabit ports and wide channel space on 5GHz have given me all the internal network speed I need right now. I only wish these routers would allow more security control’s like host, subnet and country filtering. Other features like IPS would be beneficial at least at a minimum to protect the WAN port.

I am using this router as an access point for i.p. security cameras as well as an internet connection for employees. The range and signal are superior to any other router I have used before. I was having connectivity issues because of the massive area i am covering, which is well over limitations, but since I installed the ac2300 those issues are gone. In fact i am getting excellent signal 350 ft away to my fartherest camera which is actually closer to an existing router but the ac2300 is providing a stronger signal at 350 ft than the existing router 150 ft away.

This router is very fast, it made all my wifi connected devices 3 times faster if not more… Right now I can only have sat. Internet where I live, and with my old wifi router I couldn’t watch movies, you tube, music, basically the old router was as fast a dial up ( for you young people, dial up was very slow, but the fastest thing we had at that time 56k, yes not a misprint 56 kilabites) It also allowed me to connect several devices and not have any of them slow down, no way could I ever do that on my old router. It also has a larger range which is great. This router also sped up my computer connected through cat6.. So over all this is a great router, very fast, multiple devices can connect with out any lag, great product!! 5 stars
