With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

I recently moved from a small apartment building in a residential area to a large apartment complex and my old router couldn’t break through all the wifi noise from my neighbors’ routers. I was getting 70 mbps through an ethernet connection, but only 3 mbps over wifi. I upgraded to the Nighthawk to get the 5ghz channel and the automatic channel-switching, and it’s like night and day. Now I have the same speeds over wired and wireless connections. The setup was pretty straightforward. It took me a couple tries to get the automated setup wizard to work through all it’s steps, but maybe 20 minutes later and after a classic turn-it-off-then-on-again system reset I was ready to go.
