With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

I bought this router few months ago. The positive thing to say, is that: when it works, it works really good. BUT, The router keeps restarting itself few times a day. It is super annoying, and when I searched the web for solutions, I found that it is a very common problem. I don’t understand how a company like Netgear can sell such terrible experience.

It was easy to setup!! And it allows full control over everything you would want to govern in a house as far as networking devices go. Separate guest access. Great way to mess with your kids. I use my smart phone to control what happens. Streaming videos are crystal clear with the generous buffer capabilities. Video gaming shows no lag time. Over all this is a solid WiFi router!!

Bought this router in hopes that it would alleviate some of the stress on my internet service with the dual bands it offers. I was using an old dual-band N600 router that was new out-of-the-box several years ago. Recently the old Netty was not doing so well and my WiFi speeds were rather slow, the connections were dropping and the Router itself was starting to feel hot to the touch. After some research, I chose this new Nighthawk router and my entire home WiFi has benefited from it! Speed went from 70.9 up to 149 download speed. In addition, there’s no need for 2 broadcasted SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. It can all be combined into one SSID to let the router and the device decide which would work best. Lastly, I kept the same SSID and password so all the previous devices would automatically connect. Everything runs great!
