With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

Strong signal strength throughout the house on both bands, and I discovered that my actual ISP speed was about double what I could access through my old router. The browser interface is easy but highly customizable and the app is decent. Overall great router for a pretty reasonable price

I bought the Netgear Nighthawk router without doing any research last week because my previous router quit. I live in a small town where choices are limited so I picked the Nighthawk basically because it seemed like the best router out of the few choices I had. I am very glad that I did! It was easy to set up, is capable of hanging on the wall out of the way and best of all, works very well. We have multiple devices all using the wifi at the same time and this router handles it all, including a gaming computer. I would definitely recommend it!

We recently switched from DIRECTV to PlayStation view for streaming television to save a lot of money each month. I had an older net gear router that was not able to handle the demands for the wired cat six connection and support the wireless devices in our home. I was having to reboot the router multiple times a day which was extremely frustrating for my family. After reading the reviews on the Nighthawk I made the purchase and from the moment it was connected everything has worked perfect and I have not had to reboot the router or power it through once! Very happy and would recommend for those with gaming needs as well as reliable Wi-Fi signal throughout a two-story home. I do have a range extender Upstairs to ensure connectivity, however the signal strength at 5G from the main router does carry throughout the home. Wireless download speeds downstairs went up to over 200Mbps.

It typical for speeds to be lower over WiFi than connected via Ethernet and this router is no exception. The difference is that the loss of speed isn’t significant with this router, even on a different floor in a different area of the house. I have the router sitting in the basement on top of my desk (right below an air duct) and the speed loss 5 feet from the router compared to the first floor is minimal, regardless of where I am on the floor. One thing that has confused me is that sometimes I get 200 Mbps speeds and other times I may get as low as 20mbps, despite the internet speed using the nighthawk speed test to be right around 200mbps. Maybe there is just a lot of 2.4 or 5 GHz congestion during those times? I also really enjoy that Circle is integrated and allows you to set up different devices to use different filters and set Google safe search and YouTube retracted. This is one thing that is lacking when using openDNS. Overall, excellent router after only a week.

Everything about this router is awesome. We recently finished our basement and our old router wasn’t reaching our phones and tv that great when we were in the basement. Everything took a minute to load and it was very frustrating. This new router reaches everything in the basement and has greatly improved our internet speed. I didn’t know the internet could load so fast! The installation was quick and easy; it took less than an hour to get it installed and all my devices connected.

This NETGEAR Nighthawk does as it says. Excellent for multi-streaming without the lag. I have used other brands but they have not performed or given the range that the Netgear Nighthawk does.
