With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

It appears to send a stronger signal because I have not noticed buffering. The signal appears to have the same range because a Roku stick TV images are no clearer than the previous routers images. My previous router worked very well but was old so I updated. I am not sure things changed that much.

So far so good. Though I was glad I had a smart phone, since I was required to download an app to be able to install my wifi router. Yes, I realize most people have smart phones, but if you don’t, how are you supposed to download an app to get wifi if you don’t have wifi?

Immediately saw a difference in speed, range and stability. No more buffering, lagging or dropping connection speed while streaming movies or gaming. Admin controls are freaking awesome and the app is super convenient. Really didn’t want to pay this much for a router but it was 100 percent worth it!
