With wireless data transfer rates of up to 2300 Mbps, the R7000P Nighthawk AC2300 Dual-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is designed to offer the wireless bandwidth needed to stream multimedia content, download large files, and more all at the same time. The Nighthawk AC2300 also supports MU-MIMO technology providing multiple, separate data paths giving wireless users a dedicated connection to the network. Once configured, the R7000P supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. If a wired connection is needed the Nighthawk also features four Gigabit LAN ports as well as a single USB 3.0 port and a single USB 2.0 port to connect compatible USB peripherals directly to the network.
The R7000P Nighthawk isn’t your ordinary router and it comes equipped with a variety of features designed to enhance your network including Dynamic QoS, Smart Connect technology, a variety of network sharing apps, configuration utilities, and security applications to ensure you get the most out of your Nighthawk R7000P. With Dynamic QoS the Nighthawk is able to prioritize network traffic to ensure bandwidth heavy tasks such as streaming video, gaming, and other data hogging applications operate smoothly. Additionally, Smart Connect technology is designed to ensure every device is connected to the fastest available Wi-Fi Band.

Other reviewers describe the blazing speed and bandwidth of this router…I’m not sold on it yet. It replaces an older Netgear G router, and so far the best I can say is that it works. The 5G network seems to work well, but the 2.4 has been disappointing. We have had a few instances of dropped signals, and some freezing up during an online meeting. Not better than before. Our home is not that large (1800 sq feet). We have several devices in the house, and wanted to improve bandwidth and speed. We also have a deck that we use in summer (but not in the cold of winter!) and so I haven ‘t had a chance to try it out there. Overall, I’m still watching to see how it performs. We purchased it as part of a B&H flash sale, so I’m not so disappointed as to return it, but if I had paid regular price, I’d consider sending it back.

I haven’t had any trouble with the ac2300 nighthawk .I’ve been using it for 2 months now, easy set up and haven’t had any delay in my WiFi and there’s multiple platforms being used cellphones Hulu/ Netflix Xboxgaming. I don’t know how it compares to other brands and models but for me it’s working sufficiently.
