With tri-band functionality, the R8000P Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Wireless Tri-Band Gigabit Router from NETGEAR is capable of supporting connected clients on the single 2.4 GHz frequency or either of the two 5 GHz frequencies. The single 2.4 GHz frequency supports data transfer rates of up to 750 Mbps while the 5 GHz frequencies support data transfer rates of up to 1.625 Gbps to handle bandwidth-intensive tasks such as streaming multimedia content, online gaming, downloading large files, and more. The Nighthawk X6S also supports the 802.11ac Wi-Fi network standard with a total Wi-Fi bandwidth of up to 4000 Mbps. If a wired connection is needed, users can connect Ethernet-enabled devices to any of the four Gigabit Ethernet ports for a reliable wired network connection.
The Nighthawk X6S features MU-MIMO, or Multiple User-Multiple Input, Multiple Output technology, making it easy to connect multiple devices to the router, each with its own dedicated pathway to the network. In addition to MU-MIMO technology, the Nighthawk X6S also supports cloud storage functionality. Simply connect a compatible USB hard drive to the router’s USB port and access your files using the ReadyCLOUD mobile app or web portal. Managing your network has also been simplified thanks to the NETGEAR genie App which offers a variety of management tools as well as the ability to remotely manage your network when you’re away.

Both Wired and Wi-Fi is not up to its advertised specifications. Comcast’s Modem(XB-7) outperform In both wired and Wi-Fi configuration. At a registered speed of 600mps, the Nighthawk achieves 120mps for Wi-Fi(2.4 & 5) and unstable speed of 400-600mps Wired. Meanwhile the Stock modem from XB-7 achieves 400mps for Wi-Fi(2.4 &5) and 600+mps wired. **To make things worse, Activating the trial Armor security drops the speed down to 20-40mps for Wi-Fi. And Activating the built-in Circle(parental control) renders the router useless. The only upside is the range capacity. Very very disappointed.

I recently purchased my Netgear Nighthawk AC 4000 after many failures with another brand that I will not mention at this time. The Nighthawk is very powerful. I keep my router in the basement of my residence and have quite a number of devices connected, the Nighthawk provides fast uninterrupted service to all devices and cameras with no lag time. This is a great router and I will tell others.

A much improved upgrade from the router provided by our internet provider. This router is powerful enough to have multiple devices online without bogging down. Easy to install and the app. is a nice addition. Only complaint is that it does temporarily “block” some pages, which just requires a reboot of the webpage.

Spent more money because I heard good things about the netgear nighthawk routers. Have 4 devices hardwired and 35 wireless devices, always have connection issues dropped wifi signals disconnects hardwired devices. Recently keeps telling me that a firmware upgrade is available and no matter what is done it will not upgrade. Will never buy another netgear product again and will be replacing the one I have in the next two weeks.

Purchased item in 2020 and this is the second time I call for service . Item has gone bad twice for the same exact thing . Lan ports went out and when more than one device connects disrupts and shuts off internet . Customer is slow and have been dealing with them nearly a month now
