Boost the speed and efficiency of your home Wi-Fi network with the Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router from Netgear. Equipped with eight internal antennas and capable of up to 6 Gb/s of total Wi-Fi throughout, this dual-band router supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless standard. Among the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 are multi-user MIMO support, which allows for multiple simultaneous data streams; OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) support, which helps to enhance efficiency and reduce latency; and target wake time (TWT), which helps to optimize the battery life of connected mobile devices.
The Nighthawk AX12 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port that allows for multi-gigabit wired connections. Two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you share printers and storage devices, while WPA3 encryption helps to enhance security.

I purchased this router to replace the one supplied by my internet provider. I must say that now I am experiencing more of the actual speed I am paying for than I was previously, with no lag. At any given time there are usually three Roku devices, three smart phones, three computers, and a tablet all running on wifi with no issues. The Nighthawk is a bit pricey, but if it fits your budget it is well worth it.

The most notable advantage with the RAX200 is the wireless signal. No more need for extenders as this unit gives a consistent signal everywhere around our 3,000 sq ft home.

My existing router crashed. We all have to work from home so I had to replace fast. Needed to cover 3 floors, 25 connections (although probably only 15 active at any point in time). So, to the store, back and set up, all connections reset, all in under 3 hours. Slick setup and the android app gives some flexibility to shut down certain devices (i.e. turn off late night access to insta-whatever the current flavor). I was in a hurry so probably overpaid – check prices..

My biggest complaint is the router forces each of the clients to use the router for DNS resolving (it then forwards it) instead of the actual DNS setting. If you use pi-hole or AdGuard Home, you will only see the requests coming from the router and not the client, which prevents you from troubleshooting a malware event or having client specific settings.

I like the router very much but I did not realize it lacked parenteral controls. I probably would not have purchased if I had known. The signal is much stronger than anything I have previously owned and it was easy to set up and easy to use.

The router has a strong build quality. The setup was easy using nighthawk mobile app. WiFi signal is solid on both 2.4Gghz and 5Ghz bands. With my 802.11ac interface on my PC I was able to achieve 1.7 Gb speeds. There is a huge potintial in this router. Looking forward to upcoming software updates with new features.

Android App is to basic, no ReadyShare options. No Windows App, you need to use a browser and t takes hours ton connect. Netgear Genie was great but it is not supported.
