Boost the speed and efficiency of your home Wi-Fi network with the Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router from Netgear. Equipped with eight internal antennas and capable of up to 6 Gb/s of total Wi-Fi throughout, this dual-band router supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless standard. Among the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 are multi-user MIMO support, which allows for multiple simultaneous data streams; OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) support, which helps to enhance efficiency and reduce latency; and target wake time (TWT), which helps to optimize the battery life of connected mobile devices.
The Nighthawk AX12 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port that allows for multi-gigabit wired connections. Two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you share printers and storage devices, while WPA3 encryption helps to enhance security.

I was having serious problems with WiFi dropping in and out. I was cursing spectrum all the time but to be fair to them they came out twice to investigate with no real cause. Then the nice young lady grabbed a router out of her van and connected it and did multiple speed tests over time. The reliability was back. Next day I bought a netgear nighthawk and all of a sudden I need no repeaters in my house and the wifi is as solid as can be. One month on and it has been night and day. Fully recommend the product.

I like this router. Still learning how to use all the features, but major improvement over the old route which had a slower CPU. There are many features so it is taking me a moment to take fun advantage of the finite operations of the router. The wifi is wonderful and fast, I mostly hard wire all my computers, but the little streaming I do is is a great improvement.

The RAX200 has been miserable. I am on my second one, as the first wouldn’t broadcast. After about 10-12 hours of dealing with tech support for the first one, they told me to take it back. Now I am on my second one. I have a whole host of issues related to device priorities, network assignments, broadcast channels, and devices dropping. To his credit, the tech support guy has been good, but we playphone/e-mail tag since he is on the west coast and I am on the east coast. I was told the new firmware should fix a lot of problems – it did not. Bottom line, it woefully under-performs. I have wasted a lot of time on this router, and of course money. At this point I am stuck, since it’s out of warranty (though I spent 75% of the warranty time period chatting with tech support…) I’ll probably cut my losses and look at a different manufacturer. I suppose if you want to invest a lot of your time dealing with your router and tech support, then this is the model for you. But it’s been a complete disappointment for me.

Once this router was set up, it worked well. It has much better coverage and signal strength than the Apple router it replaced. On the negative side, the setup process was not smooth as is advertised. I don’t like the fact that there is no manual included, especially since setup hung up on me mid-process. Because my old router was disconnected, I had no internet connection. I tried to call customer service for help, but they routed me to a third-party computer guy to figure out the problem and complete the router setup. I was charged for this help. Also, the app seems to be quirky. The ad shows the app tracking all connected devices. Actual was that it did not identify all the devices I had connected to test this feature. Given the price of this router, I expected more, especially from customer service.

It took a chance on the AX12 based after reading some lackluster reviews. I never thought I would consider spending that much money on a wireless router. I am glad I did! It is absolutely awesome. We have a household FULL of connected devices and have struggled to obtain reliable connectivity. The AX12 does not disappoint. Fantastic and reliable connections and wireless speeds that I didn’t think I could obtain unless connected to an ethernet cable.
