Boost the speed and efficiency of your home Wi-Fi network with the Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router from Netgear. Equipped with eight internal antennas and capable of up to 6 Gb/s of total Wi-Fi throughout, this dual-band router supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless standard. Among the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 are multi-user MIMO support, which allows for multiple simultaneous data streams; OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) support, which helps to enhance efficiency and reduce latency; and target wake time (TWT), which helps to optimize the battery life of connected mobile devices.
The Nighthawk AX12 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port that allows for multi-gigabit wired connections. Two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you share printers and storage devices, while WPA3 encryption helps to enhance security.

Easy to install and super fast. My WAN connects to a router from Frontier, that router is then connected to the Nighthawk. Sits in the middle of a 5000 sq ft house and reaches every corner. Four users stream Zoom video and on line classroom work with no buffering. It also eliminated buffering while streaming HD movies through apple TV via Wifi. Writeup says Nighthawk can be installed on a wall, but it does not come with screw to do so. There are holes in the back that you can use to mount it on a wall, but they are not deep enough for the head of a screw to slide into (had to use a nail). Also when wall mounted the wings tend to slide outward a bit. This does not impact performance, but it creates a flimsy physical connection. That said, I remain a fan!

This is the best router on the market today. It is an investment yes, however if you have a house like mine that has constant dead zones this is your one machine solution. I had 2-3 dead zones in my house with this WiFi is 5 bars through an 11 ft thick wall. This is basically a cellular tower but for WiFi in your house. If you suffer from deadspots this is your solution! Amazing router.

Even if you think WiFi 6 is still a ways out, this router is worth it. All my devices on WiFi 5 (802.11ac) are getting over 135 MB down speeds. An incredible improvement from my previous Asus router that was getting at best 55 MB.

Thought this would solve all of our wifi issues… During set up said it needed to update. Did update and it bricked and never worked again. Returned it same day and switched to a mesh system and never looked back.

I’ve had three of these. All of them have done the same thing. I plugged it in outlet by itself, reinstalled the firmware using a wired connection, and reinstalled previous firmware using a wired connection. Nothing works. If you check the forums, this is a very common problem with this router.

This unit does not behave as promissed. It has serious firmware problems. Even tried for all ways possible could not get more than 25 mbps speeds with just one device connected to 5 ghz band and 2.4 turned off. Netgear tech support was inexistent. exchanged for an ASUS router
