Boost the speed and efficiency of your home Wi-Fi network with the Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router from Netgear. Equipped with eight internal antennas and capable of up to 6 Gb/s of total Wi-Fi throughout, this dual-band router supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless standard. Among the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 are multi-user MIMO support, which allows for multiple simultaneous data streams; OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) support, which helps to enhance efficiency and reduce latency; and target wake time (TWT), which helps to optimize the battery life of connected mobile devices.
The Nighthawk AX12 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port that allows for multi-gigabit wired connections. Two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you share printers and storage devices, while WPA3 encryption helps to enhance security.

Out of the box this unit has been a disaster. It has connectivity issues and will disconnect from the Internet every 15-minutes or so. If you look at the Netgear Community section this is not an isolated issue. Working with tech support has yielded zero improvements. I am ready to throw in the towel and return this lemon and go with a different brand. I wanted a plug-in-play Router and this is clearly not the device for me.

In the process of setting up my new home network, I did weeks and weeks of research and everything kept pointing me towards the NETGEAR Nighthawk AX12. And wow I’ll Bradley never use it to its full capacity, the second we set it up, I was rewarded with blazing fast Internet speeds and strong connections, so strong, it actually covers that just my entire inside of the house, but also my front and backyard, all the way out to the front street and even a little further! The app on your phone is easy to use, and my favorite part is, the way it looks! It looks like some super cool starfighter from a futuristic movie, like it’ll just start hovering and take flight! I’m very happy with my netgear router and modem, and if I need anything else, net gear will be my first choice!
