Boost the speed and efficiency of your home Wi-Fi network with the Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router from Netgear. Equipped with eight internal antennas and capable of up to 6 Gb/s of total Wi-Fi throughout, this dual-band router supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless standard. Among the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 are multi-user MIMO support, which allows for multiple simultaneous data streams; OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) support, which helps to enhance efficiency and reduce latency; and target wake time (TWT), which helps to optimize the battery life of connected mobile devices.
The Nighthawk AX12 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port that allows for multi-gigabit wired connections. Two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you share printers and storage devices, while WPA3 encryption helps to enhance security.

The coverage on this router is amazing. The app to control it is missing some features I got used to from DLink. You can’t see what a connected device is accessing on the internet which is a problem if you ask me. There are a few others but overall the coverage and speed is awesome.

I purchased this router hoping it would solve the issues I was having with devices dropping off the network. I’m super happy with the results! It manages the device load and I’m actually getting 230 mbps when the plan I’m paying for is only 200 mbps. It is a little expensive but it’s WiFi 6 so any new tech coming down the road I’m ready for.

I now have 2 of the latest Net Gear WiFi 6 routers and an AX8 mesh extender. The routers lose synch regularly with the Spectrum cable modem and have to be rebooted a couple of times per day. I bought the 2nd one last week because I was outside the return period and could not get it replaced. I run a home based internet intensive consulting company and depend on reliable internet access. I have a dedicated Spectrum high speed business line and Spectrum has checked everything in their system including replacing their modem. The problem persists with the new router. I am returning it today and switching to another brand. I plan on replacing the AX8 extender as well since it won’t do a factory reset no matter how many times you execute the online instructions. It stays in the bridged mode and won’t recognize the new router. I’ll am very disappointed with the reliability of these units. I used a Net Gear Nighthawk AC version for years prior to upgrading to the WiFi 6 model. I do not recommend upgrading to these models as they appear to have built in reliability issues which drive you crazy.

This router has been working very well so far since I’ve had it. I’ve noticed some times that the internet will slow down a lot but that could just be due to my area. Other than that I would recommend it for someone trying to have a lot of devices connected to the internet.

My apple airport router decided it wanted to quit accepting speeds beyond 250 , when I upgraded my service I wanted the best and believe this Darth Vader blasts speeds that exceed the galaxy ( meaning the wifi range is unbelievable) ability to go 2.5-5g amazing. I don’t regret this purchase one bit and look forward to many years out of this easy to use router along with the app. Many users complain about the firmware update but honestly that’s what makes this product unique is its constantly evolving and bringing you nothing but the best.

Can not have one name for 2.4G and a single name for the additional 2 5G bands like the R8 router. Causes problems with non ax extenders and IOT devices unless all support AX. R8 performance better even though less channels. Radios not as strong as R8 routers for coverage.

I have the new Xfinity 1 gig internet speed, so I thought I would go all out with Netgear equipment. I first bought their 3.1 Docsis modem, then this router. Not impressed with the WiFi speeds throughout the house. I then bought the new AX8 extender (I was already using their AX6 model at the time), but that didn’t help much at all. I now have the AX6 and AX8 extenders running and it is a little better than before. I had better speeds with the 450 MBPS, 3.0 modem with a Linksys 5400 router, along with my AX6 . And believing in Netgear products, I could not accept that the fault was their equipment. In fact, you would not believe how many times I had Xfinity come out to my home to check everything. I have a home just over 1900 sq. ft., and with this equipment, I should have excellent speeds throughout the home instead of the low hundreds.
