Boost the speed and efficiency of your home Wi-Fi network with the Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router from Netgear. Equipped with eight internal antennas and capable of up to 6 Gb/s of total Wi-Fi throughout, this dual-band router supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless standard. Among the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 are multi-user MIMO support, which allows for multiple simultaneous data streams; OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) support, which helps to enhance efficiency and reduce latency; and target wake time (TWT), which helps to optimize the battery life of connected mobile devices.
The Nighthawk AX12 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port that allows for multi-gigabit wired connections. Two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you share printers and storage devices, while WPA3 encryption helps to enhance security.

Setup and maintenance via the Nighthawk app is very easy and convenient, although slightly slow to load and show information in the app. The major drawback is that there is no Netgear Armor support which is a disappointment for Netgear’s top of the line router. If Armor comes available then this would be a 5-star router.

The router antennas are great. Set up was a little difficult if you don’t have a modem and router set up. I know majority of big companies are moving to the all in one(router/modem together). If that is the case you will have to use this as an access point which will not allow you to use IPV6 feature.
