Boost the speed and efficiency of your home Wi-Fi network with the Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router from Netgear. Equipped with eight internal antennas and capable of up to 6 Gb/s of total Wi-Fi throughout, this dual-band router supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless standard. Among the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 are multi-user MIMO support, which allows for multiple simultaneous data streams; OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) support, which helps to enhance efficiency and reduce latency; and target wake time (TWT), which helps to optimize the battery life of connected mobile devices.
The Nighthawk AX12 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port that allows for multi-gigabit wired connections. Two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you share printers and storage devices, while WPA3 encryption helps to enhance security.

Performance was fine, features were mostly OK but I could never figure out how to keep it from advertising itself as a DNS server via DHCP. Was running link aggregation to my CM, worked fine. Biggest minus is no dual-WAN support. Unfortunately today I got an email the Netgear is discontinuing it’s free dynamic dns service, so it is time to replace it. It won’t be with an Netgear product, unfortunately.

Replaced my Verizon Fios router with the Nighthawk AX12 and wow!!! What a difference! We have a large home, 8500 sq. ft., and it reaches all points of my home with no problems. Finally getting all the speed I actually pay for. Pulling 900 mgps easily and ping rate around 2!!!!! Pricey but worth the extra bucks.

I purchased this router back in June, and ever since I set up this router along with Netgear’s CM2000 modem, the router constantly reboots multiple times a day. I opened up several support cases to resolve the issue, and Netgear’s support team never fixed or helped mitigate the problem.
