Boost the speed and efficiency of your home Wi-Fi network with the Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router from Netgear. Equipped with eight internal antennas and capable of up to 6 Gb/s of total Wi-Fi throughout, this dual-band router supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless standard. Among the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 are multi-user MIMO support, which allows for multiple simultaneous data streams; OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access) support, which helps to enhance efficiency and reduce latency; and target wake time (TWT), which helps to optimize the battery life of connected mobile devices.
The Nighthawk AX12 comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, and a 5 Gb/s Ethernet port that allows for multi-gigabit wired connections. Two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you share printers and storage devices, while WPA3 encryption helps to enhance security.

I needed a router that could accommodate all my connected devices (13 at the moment) and have the capability to simultaneously stream 4K movies and occasional online gaming. I also wanted to invest in a unit that would be future proof for my house. On my current 300mbps service, I was seeing speeds between 40-65mbps on my former router, with gaps in connectivity for some of my extended range devices through the house. The Nighthawk ax12 solved my problems. My speed is up to 351mbp down, 32 up, and allows all my devices to run without interruptions. Great product and money well spent in my book!

Installed RAX120 over the weekend. Worked fine for a day or so and then started to notice that internet actions were hanging up. After several reboots and factory resets. Began to noticed that some wireless devices could not see the new router. Went to the community page and found that the same issue existed around June 2019. The solution was to turn off the “AX WiFi” option while a new firmware update is deployed. I did update the firmware to the “… .118” version (latest available as of 3/29/2020) when I set up the router but it did not seem to fix the problem. Turning off “AX WiFi” has solved my problems so far and, being a long time Netgear fan, I am hoping that Netgear realizes that this is still an issue and addresses this soon.

I am using about 30 wireless devices at home including smart devices. So i considered a mesh router, but this Nighthawk AX6000 was best choice for performance wise for 4k movie stream from my NAS. I am satisfied with it now.

This router is a massive improvement from my previous Netgear AC3200 nighthawk X6. While my old router worked great I was only getting half the internet speed I was paying for. Since upgrading to the AX12 I’m getting all the speed I’m paying for and more. I went from a constant 250mbps to 480mbps with just this router. The AX12 has a nice sleek design with the antennas hidden in the two wings that make it look awesome. Easy set up, true plug and play. Able to name the router the same as my previous model and same password had all my devices automatically connect to the new router and saved me the hassle of reconnecting everything. Would highly recommend this router to anyone that streams movies, plays games, or even just does online school.

This was suppose to be the the newest fastest router but it is the slowest Netgear I’ve ever owned. It’s ridiculous that my LTE is faster. Only WiFi is slow also.
