The Nighthawk AX6 AX5400 sets up quickly through the Nighthawk mobile app, and you can issue voice commands to the router through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Your network is secured with both wireless encryption and the Netgear Armor multi-layered cybersecurity system, which protects devices against viruses, malware, and other online threats.

The cell phone app expects the router will be the only one accessible during set up. When adding a Nighthawk to an existing network the user must continually reconnect to it. I experienced a surprising message during set up. Your are connected to NETGEAR04 please connect to NETGEAR04. I could not resolve that issue until I canceled adding the current device, unplugged everything, and restarted from scratch adding a new device. Once connected the system offered significant speed advantages over my previous AC3200 router that would not accommodate Wi-Fi 6.
