Your network is secured with both wireless encryption and the Netgear Armor multi-layered cybersecurity system, which protects devices against viruses, malware, and other online threats.

But the next day after use, the wifi changed its name on us and we had to go through this entire reset to figure it out. We had to recreate and reset up the system. Since then it has been working normally. I just was not expecting any issues for the price we paid.

Easy setup and great features! Excellent 5G range in a 2 level 2800 square foot home. Fast internet, even with over ten linked devices. Gaming and streaming HD are not a problem for this unit. Would recommend this to any user looking for a reasonably priced, hot rod router for whole home use.

I used to be annoyed by having to use apps but I have grown fond of them. You can do the entire set up from your phone. Set wifi names and passwords, monitor set up access restrictions, etc. I had never done this before and had everything set up within an hour.

I purchased the RAX 50s because the WiFi range on my xfinity xFi gateway wasn’t cutting it for my 3 storey home. The RAX 50 WiFi coverage is an improvement and speeds are decent (after a few hours tinkering with the settings). However the Smart Connect feature doesn’t work well. When enabled it’s supposed to combine both 2.4 GHZ and 5G wireless into a single WiFi SSID. However when I enable it, many of my OIT devices and cameras that use 2.4 GHZ WiFi only do not work! I checked the forums and this seems to be a problem many users have been facing for quite some time. Netgear, at this router’s high price point and reputation, buyers shouldn’t be having this type of problem. Please fix this issue and I’ll update to 5 stars. Thank you

I had a mesh system and didn’t realize that it had began to slow down. I started noticing that the link quality was getting worse so I started looking for a real router. I stumbled across the RAX50 and ordered it. I was not prepared for the change it would make to my household! Even wired devices like our Apple TV’s begin playback almost immediately! Having all of the control of a real router back at my fingertips is awesome and the wireless spreads from this router far surpass what I expected. The mobile app is great for checking in and making quick remote tweaks as well. I also grew fond od the Armor feature which I did not expect. The RAX50 appears to live up to the hype and then some!
