The router also includes five Gigabit Ethernet ports, four of which connect to computers, gaming consoles, and other compatible devices. Connect an external storage drive to the available USB 3.0 Type-A port to back up and share data locally across your network. The Nighthawk AX6 AX5400 sets up quickly through the Nighthawk mobile app, and you can issue voice commands to the router through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Your network is secured with both wireless encryption and the Netgear Armor multi-layered cybersecurity system, which protects devices against viruses, malware, and other online threats.

My wired connection speed is fantastic and matches what I pay my isp. But my wireless connection is about 1/5 the speed of my wired connection right next to the router. I wish my wireless worked better.

I’d previous owned an AX120 and didn’t realize how spoiled I was until I no longer had it. I knew it was the right decision to get rid off as my apartment was far too small for that much wifi power, so I looked all over and through sheer luck came across the AX50, and boy does it ever fill big brother’s shoes! It’s as stable and consistently fast connection to all 8 paired devices, just as the AX120. The big reason why I got it this time is for a take-home standardizes exam. It turns out I was deducted two questions due to faulty connection, but with this AX50 I’ve yet to have any single issue. (HINT: AX120 NEVER did so I’m not expecting any!)

Easy to setup, used the web browser which is better than the limited options in the App. Very good unit except range in my 40 year old 3 story home. Will try moving to middle of middle floor if I can find a discreet but exposed spot as the range wont reach upstairs rear bedroom yet all my OTHER NETGEAR routers do, so this seems odd.

Needless to say this router is the best one We have owed offering improved security, easy installation, greater coverage, wonderful app interface, and monitoring of devices connecting to it. Netgear has upgrades for protection of individual devices with products that compete with the leading edge protection software. You can customize to the degree that you feel most comfortable, at home and away. After installing the router, the protection that has a trial period picked up malware on two devices that the devices themselves did not detect.
