Your network is secured with both wireless encryption and the Netgear Armor multi-layered cybersecurity system, which protects devices against viruses, malware, and other online threats.

I have a 1200 square foot house with lots of corners and my signal was solid throughout the house. My devices that can take advantage of WIFI6 had a considerably more noticeable speed than when connected to WIFI5. I had 36 to 42 devices connected to the router at a time and never experienced a slowdown. I only stream TV and do not have cable or satellite TV while my kid games on a PC and my wife is constantly online. Netgear has done a good job of simplifying setup processes. I received and tested the beta version of the RAX50 router at no cost and this is my honest review.

I was a bit skeptical when i bought this router, as i had a very bad experience on my previous two routers to get the speed that i paid my service provider. RAX50 gave the exact speed that i subscribed for consistently. Also the coverage range is excellent. I was able to connect devices from my parking lot.

I have the RAX50 model. I upgraded from the R7000 router which is actually a pretty good router. The R7000 provided good coverage on my 1700 sq ft home and I had no pressing need to upgrade. I just wanted to upgrade to the newer wifi 6 standard. And get better coverage in the back patio. I used the Nighthawk app to set up the new router. Just had a couple of minor hiccups. But eventually, all my previous settings from the R7000 transferred over to the new RAX50. I have been using the new router for a couple of weeks and so far it works great. The coverage and bandwidth have increased nicely in every room. I even attached a portable WD USB hard drive hosting videos to the readyshare port. It streams videos to all my four TVs just fine. I also make use of the ethernet ports to connect to an older non-wireless printer and my Mac. So far after a couple of weeks of use, I can attest the Netgear RAX50 is a good router. Time will tell on the long-term reliability. (My older R7000 works as good as new.) Highly recommended.

I am not much a network person however I have been trying to get wireless PC VR to work well with no luck until I got this router. It’s perfect. 30 ms latency 150 mbs. Thats not a typical use case and PCVR wireless is a gamble with routers but this one is perfect. Outside of that it was dead simple to set up mostly because of the app and I have no complaints.

Set up my router, everything seemed to be working fine but after a week it stopped working. No amount of rebooting made a difference, I switched back to my ancient cisco router and it worked fine (slow, but fine.) I suspect that something is wrong with the firmware but couldn’t figure out how to connect to the router to update through the app since the router was offline.

The Nighthawk AX6 provides consistently strong, reliable signal and is very easy to setup. The only reason it doesn’t get five stars from me is because it needs to be managed via phone app, and the app itself is configured to provide an overwhelming number of push notifications by default. But those settings can be changed on the fly.
