Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I replaced my R7000 model with the AX6000 model. It was easy to set up and made a big difference in my connection reliabilty and speed. I really like all the features of the Knighthawk App, especially the Armor Security and ability to check my wi-fi signal strength and speed tests at any time.

Buy this to replace the default xfinity router. Only need to set the xfinity router to the bridge mode and then the Nighthawk will work, very easy to setup and the wife speed is improved. Cons: when set the smart connect (2.4G & 5G have the same name), the computer at one end of the room is always prefer to connect to the 2.4G, or maybe switching between 2.4G & 5G, this will lead to unstable connection during online meeting. The fact is that although 5G wifi signal is weaker, the internet speed is still much much faster than the 2.4G. So disable the smart connect and use the 5G!

Slightly better range than my 6 year old Arris. I guess I would have expected this to blow it away. This does have more features and easier to use. The constant Armor security badgering is rather annoying. And the review starts are defaulting to 5 stars and will not allow me to change to 4.

Upgraded to the newest Nighthawk CAX80 and what a difference! This thing smoked the old Nighthawk. DL speeds increased 20%, upload 10%. Absolutely love it. If you have the old Nighthawk app delete it and install the new / updated app BEFORE you try to setup. It will save you time and anguish.

This router exceeded all of my expectations. I am able to get gigabit speeds over WiFi from all of my WiFi 6 capable devices. I also have several devices hardwired through a separate switch with no issues. I highly recommend that the Netgear CM2000 cable modem be used with the RAX120! None of the routers I’ve used in the past have come close to this experience!
