Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

This router replaced a very entry level one I was using with xfinity. The range is incredible, speed is far superior, and connectivity issues were extremely infrequent. I owned mine for about 4 months before it entirely stopped working. I called NetGear. Their support is overseas and I had a hard time understanding the rep, but she was kind and helped me troubleshoot it to the best of both of our abilities. It was quickly determined that it was faulty. They opened a warranty claim and I mailed it in. Their turnaround was quick and I am expected to have my new router delivered tomorrow. My hope, of course, is that this one works longer than the last one. I would rate customer support at a 5/5, router overall a 3/5 because of longevity of the first one. Overall, I’m satisfied and looking forward to having my new router back.

I recently replaced a Netgear router with the new Netgear AX8000. The set-up was very easy and quick. You download the primary app from the App Store so it runs on your mobile device. Select the Armor set-up too – it will help keep your network clean. In my opinion, Netgear is the only way to go. I am getting exceptionally fast network speeds across a large home with lots of connected devices.

This replaced the useless junk optimum gave us. It was harder to set up than advertised, partially due to the cable/internet company optimum but also net gear tech support was not helpful. I almost returned it. Now it’s working well. The only issue is the option to auto switch between 2.4 and 5, when selected my laptop would not stay online, on for 20 seconds then off for 20 and repeat. I turned off the auto switch and it stays now, but now we have to manually switch which is dumb. Tech support couldn’t help.
