Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I upgraded from a less robust Netgear Unit and range extender, Mom was the lucky recipient of that. When I put in the AX12 the change was immediate. I have 1 Gig to the home and the previous Netgear was awesome, but this blew my mind. I have tried to test this for a bandwidth restriction and cant seem to find it. I can manage to stream 4 4k movies at the same time wireless and wired while watching Tik Tok, well my daughter, with no lag.

House is 3,000 sqft and the regular wifi signal has full bars everywhere in the house. The 5G connection is 1 bar short in the farthest areas in the house. Overall IMO thats great! I’ve always used the cable company’s routers, and this is significantly better coverage everywhere in the house than what I’m used to.

We usually have about 13 devices running in our house 5 of them are 4 K TV’s which we stream on all of them, and a playstation for online gaming. This unit runs them all at the same time with know problems. Worth the money.

We were forced to upgrade our router when we found out the reason our old router was not working was because our provider no longer supported it. We were very impressed by the Up/Down speeds of this new router after debating spending so much more for the hype. I tell you what, it certainly lived up to the hype! We now have range into the basement, garage, and surrounding yard at full connection and speed with this bad boy. It eliminated any need for a mesh system, repeaters, or boosters as we had previously.
