Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I purchased this modem/router to replace my current Asus cm-2600 wifi modem. The Nighthawk not only increased my wifi range but boosted the amount of bandwidth by at least 75%. I have Xfinity 800mbps. The wifi for the old panoramic was not only disconnecting but the download speeds were approximately 250mbps. The nighthawk now provides me with over 750mbps download over wifi alone! If you are looking for that edge this is the combo modem for you!

Decided to “future proof” my wifi by upgrading my service and updating my modem. Choose the CAX80 because the wifi 6 capability. I’ve used Netgear products in the past and haven’t had any issues with them. This was a wise decision on my part. Modem is super fast and, though it’s only been a few weeks, have had zero problems. I would recommend this product to anyone who’s in the market.

I bought this product in 2019 and it worked flawlessly for several years when I had a lower tier internet plan. I more recently upgraded to gigabit internet and after upgrading I am receiving less than 400 Mbps through this router wirelessly or wired while getting more than double that directly out of my modem. The product therefore does not work as advertised and you can’t call customer service without a subscription after 90 days. I find this entirely unacceptable and will not be purchasing or recommending future netgear products as a result.
