Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The CAX80 is a beast! Wifi speeds are crazy throughout my house. We stream TV, phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, thermostat and game consoles. This modem/router handles it all.

All in all this modem router works very well. We have 5 people in the house that stream hulu, netflix, etc.. and then me who plays online video games streaming. Almost all the devices are running on the 2.4 Ghz w/ minimal wifi/internet interruptions while all people are on the wifi. I did have problems w/ games disconnecting or freezing on pc b/c of connection while on the 2.4 Ghz. This was my deduction of the .5 out of 10 rating. Switched my pc to the 5G connection though and I haven’t had any problems with connection lately even w/ others in the home using streaming services also. Note my pc is one of the few on 5G in the house but this did help w/ the disconnecting servers I was having on the 2.4.

No matter how closely it is to the actual router it disconnects. I tried to open a web page and it almost looks like it is looking for the signal it lags in trying to open the page. My opinion is that they almost looks like they’re fighting to connect to the device, the router, and the extender. To me it looks like it doesn’t work like like an extender, but an actual router either my place is too small or the extender is too big. So having said that it almost feels like it crashes sometimes, and download speed is really low when there is multiple devices connected . I’m thinking of just returning it.

I purchased this router back in June, and ever since I set up this router along with Netgear’s CM2000 modem, the router constantly reboots multiple times a day. I opened up several support cases to resolve the issue, and Netgear’s support team never fixed or helped mitigate the problem.

Router is great. Range is amazing. Unfortunately the software that runs it could be way better. The app is garbage and doesn’t let you do what you need. Half the time it doesn’t even connect even when it says it is.
