Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Router was defective not sure what was actually wrong kept dropping the Internet spent six hours on the phone with tech-support After which they told me to return the product. Honestly I’ve used Netgear products over 15 years now and that’s the first time I’ve got a defective product. I was disappointed with all the trouble I had and the fact they would not compensate me or Discount substantially another unit, therefore I am going to try a different company’s router as I feel I’ve been a loyal customer of theirs and when I had a problem that cost me a true hardship they would not stand by me other then to say sorry. My time is valuable and my kids needed that router for school due to COVID. Not happy.

Exactly what I needed for the limited space I have. Once is setup works like a charm. The difficult part was getting the modem up and running. Spectrum could not help but I managed to get through. In fact, the automated modem replacement utility tool works very well. However, you need to reboot both the computer and the modem/router combo after the utility tool confirms your modem is connected to the IP provider and the MAC address showing in the display matches the one of the CAX80. Unless you go the reboot process the setup will not smooth. After you do, then everything will go smooth. It would be great if Netgear advises to perform the reboot process in a section of the setup guide or tool utility. The IP provider won’t be able to help match unless you are lucky enough to reach someone with troubleshooting experience.

Good for speed but gets hot could use a fan or something to draw out heat. Maybe the design could be changed for better cooling. When combo gets hot internet gets choppy and laggy. Using multiply tvs and gaming systems tablets and phones at once.

This is a very good product. High speed operation once it is set up. For some reason it is difficult to connect directly to the router using cables. It keeps going to the internet page instead of connecting to the router itself. Smart phone application works but has some glitches.

Buying a new router can be so intimidating, especially if you are not a technical guru. The 3, yes literally 3, steps during set up make that worry go away. Being able to quickly install this and get everyone back online was amazing. I would recommend this for anyone who deals with dropped calls, slow loading internet sites, and multiple users in your home. LOVE LOVE LOVE this router.
