Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I bought the Nighthawk extender to improve wifi signal to a new office space we had built in our back yard. Set up was quick and easy. Once I had it connected to our router, speeds improved from 5-10 mbps to 250 mbps. That is 35 feet out in our back yard and through a couple of walls, so I am very happy with the results.

Although it says this is compatible with Cox, if you have a fiber connection it is not. It is great if you hook up via a coaxial cable, but with Cox’s Fiber, they use their own modem, so this is incompatible if you have a fiber connection. I have since returned this product, but am looking at a ROUTER ONLY Netgear option- as I was never a fan of using ISP routers.

Bought this extender to replace the EX8000 that I have over a year and half (it quit working). Had it for over a week and so far it is working okay. The set up using the Nighthawk App was little bit complicated – I had to reset the extender to redo it before it recognizes the extender. The unit looks stylish. Hope this one will last longer than the older one.

I am very satisfied overall with this purchase. I have WIFI available much further than I thought I would. It is very useful and solved my issue. Only reason not 5 stars is it was not easy to set up. I followed all directions. Light never turned green. Had to install the app on my phone which I did not want to have to do. Other than that, great product.

Changed from an older Netgear to the RAX120. I was able to remove the two extenders in the house, that would have a hard time reaching the signal from the old Netgear… Now we have wifi outside the house!!

updated firmware 1/13/21 hard reset. downgraded firmware, tried 4 computers 2 with wifi 6. strong connection but will lose connection when gaming and will kick you out of discord. Works great with netflix and hulu but will get a dissconnect warning then rebuffer.
