Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I bought this almost 1 year ago. Kept in a clean studio at 78 degrees with workstation and sensitive audio and computer equipment. One day it just stopped working. No lights on and a clicking sound. Checked power supply; it was fine. Tried plugging into other outlets still just a clicking sound from inside the unit…no lights. Disappointing. I feel bad for Netgear. I think their supplier of the internal components which I’m sure were outsourced probably let them down with inferior product. Tried another unit that I paid for. It too had problems (loose parts inside) The failure rate is too high… moving on to another manufacturer.

I purchase a new EAX80 to help extend the signal from my also newly purchased AXE7800. These two devices combined provide the perfect coverage for all of my needs. Very stable and strong signal around the house, garage, front and back yard. And with the one network option I don’t have to jump from from one SSID to another. This is exactly what I was looking to accomplish. Now I can stream videos anywhere.

At first upset when I allowed the modem to switch devices between 2.4 and 5g. In that configuration, my devices would lose connection intermittently. After changing to allow connection to a specific network, it functioned just fine.

Speedy fast modem with easy setup. I completed set up in about 15 minutes. I have been using the new modem for just over a week and am impressed with its power. One tip: if you are upgrading equipment, download the Netgear app before shutting down your existing modem.

Decided to upgrade my Orbi network to something that supported Wifi 6. Instead of going the more tradtional mesh route with a WIFI 6 Orbi I decided to I wanted something that could also help with gaming and speed on the LAN. I liked the 5Gb port that allows my NAS to have more bandwidth. Also I have Google fiber with 1Gb internet speed. This router does a great job of taking full advantage of the fast internet speeds both up and down. Wifi 6 works great and has helped my smart home devices stay online even while wife and kids are streaming TV, movies or playing or video games.

Bought a cable modem with wifi capabilities to replace old rented equipment from service provider that was over five years old. Much faster, smaller footprint, and looks gamer-friendly to match certain gaming room setups. Installation on my end took me more time than I had hoped but having the netgear nighthawk app on my phone makes it worthwhile I guess. Now I am ready for a speed increase in the future.
