Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

It was difficult deciding what to get with so many options and the cost was more than what we expected to spend. You can’t always rely on the online reviews. I’m glad we choose the NETGEAR CAX80.

I’ve had three of these. All of them have done the same thing. I plugged it in outlet by itself, reinstalled the firmware using a wired connection, and reinstalled previous firmware using a wired connection. Nothing works. If you check the forums, this is a very common problem with this router.

I have a 400mbps service, and the IP router just buffered so much. Had it changed several times. As soon as I plugged in the Night Hawk used the same login info all my devices connected automatically. The speed was astoundingly fast. Worth every dollar.

I installed this router to cover approximately 2,400 sqft. My gigabyte internet portal was installed in the basement in the machine room. The router has a lot of HVAC and walls to deal with in order to provide good wifi coverage for my whole house. So far the router has handled it like a champ and I have good internet speeds all the way up to my 2nd floor.

Setting the router up with a poorly written app was a PITA. (You have to reach the last page of the app and exit there for the router to activate.) Setup through a built-in webpage is much easier IMHO.

Setting up Nighthawks are always painful. I was so traumatized with my RAX200 and EAX80. I have no choice and went with an Orbi. However Orbi is less talented, but straightforward. I went with CAX80, but it, too, is problematic. The App is being difficult.

I’ve been using the Comcast modem for years but continued to have performance issues with mainly upload speeds and download speeds on occasions with my old ISP router. I finally purchased this modem and couldn’t have been happier with the instant results of consistent speeds compared to what I previously had. Highly recommend this modem/router if you have many devices and need better performance.

This ranger extender had a very quick and easy set up especially with the Nighthawk app. There is really only the extender and plug in the box so there is very little possibility of messing up. My only issue, and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that I originally was going to try to connect using WPS but I could not find the button for it anywhere. I only found the button after I had completed setup using the app and then the button lit up and I was able to see it clearly.

I bought this on Christmas eve. Hooked up with no problems. Wired internet was good but the wifi was terrible. Wifi drops every 5 minutes or so. No matter where you are in the house. Took it back and bought the asus zenwifi mesh system.

We bought this to go with our Netgear Nighthawk RAX80 router. Very easy setup to link the two. On the app if you want to view the devices connected to the extender network you must first log into the router and set up a user name and password. Then take those credentials and login through the app and everything will work. To log into router was a trick, first no VPN on, then http://www.mywifi.net should do it. Also we have used the Ethernet connect for a desktop into the extender and the speeds are fantastic. Once again expensive but worth the money especially since now we have a great mesh network and no longer have to change network connections, it along with the router do it behind the scenes to manage traffic and the extender supporta Wi-Fi 6 so that helps even more.
