Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

However, within the first month of owning this the first firmware upgrade destabilized my router and made connections with internet (either wired or wifi) intermittent. They sent a refurbished replacement that was not the RAX v2 model I purchased.

We purchased the Nighthawk CAX80 AX6000 as an approved modem/router upgrade to connect to Xfinity. The speed increase is welcome, and it pairs nicely with our 2 NETGEAR EX5000 extenders. I had 1 issue, with my 5 Chromecast devices, Google Home, and hp printer connections arbitrarily being dropped. Long story, short, I unchecked the “Enable 20-40 MHz coexistence” box, and it fixed the problem. Not sure why. It was sheer trial and error, but it’s now been a week, with no apparent negative effects.

The cable modem for the Wi-Fi six is super fast. I live in a multi level house, and I only need that to get great signal for strength, no lagging, and I don’t have to use extenders in my house to get the Internet to reach the top floor. I also bought the night hawk Wi-Fi six router for my garage and it works amazing.

Was having issues with quality of service in the front of the house and due to limitations of where to place my nighthawk router I had to find a solution to extend the network. I chose the nighthawk range extender as should be easy to install. It was a seamless install took all of 5 minutes and solved my issues while keeping my network secure. Great product I highly recommend this extender.

Xfinity sent me emails saying my Arris one gig modem was slowing down our speeds. Bought this (even though expensive) hoping this would do the trick. Speed test went from 280 mbps up to 930 mbps. Pretty satisfied

Xfinity listed the CAX80 as compatible to their cable network so I upgraded and replaced the obsolete cable modem and router I was renting. The upgrade process was very easy, the most difficult step was the CAX80 firmware update completion notification. Once I got past this, I was online with direct attached computers, phones, printer, and wifi connected aptops and immediately experienced better response times. The Nighthawk phone app provides a quick overview of performance and security as well as WiFi telemetry data. And when my son brings home guests, they can use the wifi without compromising my hone network password.
