Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I replaced this for the EX8000, which stopped working in me. The EAX80 s good product, doing what it is designed for. The set up by the nighthawk app is little bit hard – I had to reset the unit to factory setting twice in order to complete the set up successfully. Let’s se how long this unit will last. My old one, EX8000 just lasted 2 years.

Setup was fairly easy. IMO this is a good mid-range router. Features at this price point are meaningful, so good value for the money. The security features (not available on my old router) have value for those not well versed in firewalls, virus protection, etc. The app was a little ‘clunky’ initially, but once setup was complete it works very well.

The Nighthawk router is able to produce an excellent signal. Even the 5G signal is available throughout our 3000 sq ft home. On the 5G network we regularly have speeds in triple digits, limited only by our internet service provider.

I am a mediacom customer with 1g service. I was having constant drops and slow speeds until I switched over. Since I have not had a single a drop and streaming quality has increased significantly. Plus I no longer have a monthly rental fee for my junk mediacom provided equipment. 100% recommend and it was extremely easy to set up only took a few minutes. The app for the phone is extremely handy as well.

The product has met my expectations. It was purchased to extend router capability from a prior Motorola product that performed well but doesn’t have a comparable Wi-Fi 6 capable product. It reduced the no. of extenders needed to cover the same amount of space in regard to 5G speed Wi-Fi. Hopefully, it will continue to perform well over time. It has not been an extensive amount of time since purchase.
